James Edward Kaneff (AKA Big Jim), age 66, owner & operator of Kaneff Excavating from Shelby passed away peacefully on November 13, 2014 due to complications from diabetis and kidney failure. He was surrounded by his loved ones.
Survivors include his son, James (AKA 'Lil Jim) G. Kaneff of Shelby, his daughter Tina L. Cox of Shelby, granddaughters Heather Marie Cox of Kalispell & Miranda Sue Anderson of Helena. Grandsons Shawn & Josh Kaneff of Shelby. Great granddaughters Neveah Marie of Kalispell & Addisyn Alyvia of Helena & Great grandsons Nolan Edward of Kalispell, Ryder James Kaneff of Shelby.
Jim is preceded in death by his wife, the love of his life & soul mate Mary Louise, and many family members.
Jim was born Febuary 21, 1948 in Great Falls, Mt. He's been in business for over 40 yrs. He was married for 42 yrs.
Jim loved his work & was very proud of how well he did things. He loved to joke around with everyone. He also enjoyed camping & most of all loved his family time with his kids & his grand babies & loved to spoil them!
Viewing will be from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, November 17, at Whitted Funeral Chapel in Shelby. Funeral service will be 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 18 at the First Baptist Church in Shelby, followed by interment at Hillside Cemetery in Conrad.
