Gerald “Jerry” Blaine Copenhaver, 73, of Shelby, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014 of natural causes.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 11:00 am at Whitted funeral Chapel in Shelby.
Jerry was born on July 28, 1940 in Coal Center, PA to George and Lois Copenhaver. He grew up in California, Pennsylvania and graduated high school there. He then joined the Air Force and was stationed at Glasgow Air Force Base where he met and married Lydia Boyd and together they had three children. They later divorced.
He married Evie Wilson on January 26, 1985. He worked for Petrolane/Amerigas in Wolf Point and Shelby for many years. He enjoyed watching football, especially his favorite team the Steelers.
He is survived by his wife Evie Wilson of Shelby; son Mike (Connie) Copenhaver of Chinook, MT; daughter Kathy (Ralph) Diedrich of Conrad, MT; son Jesse Copenhaver of Choteau, MT; stepdaughters Lisa (Art) Knott of Great Falls, MT and Chris Brandt of Spokane, WA; stepson Duane Wilson of Great Falls, MT; five grandchildren, Cortney, Shelbi, Katelyn, Justin and Hailey; 2 great grandsons Ethan and Laiten; and 4 step grandchildren.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Leonard, 2 step granddaughters Jenny and Crystal and several aunts and uncles.
