Jerry’s story began November 23, 1942, the oldest child of Dan And Dorothy Slezak. Jerry was born in Conrad. His early life began in Valier where his father farmed. Jerry was soon to be joined by his brothers David & Roger and sister Marla. They worked the land and toiled diligently to provide for one another.
Jerry met the love of his life, Sharon Sirokman who had come to Valier to teach in 1962. In 1964 they were married and resumed farming after graduation from college. Soon Jerry and Sharon had four wonderful children: Kathy, Sherry, Danny & Kenny. Each of them is ambitious, driven and accomplished in their careers.
Jerry instilled in his children a strong work ethic, the desire to excel in whatever they set their minds to, and a deep faith in God. When the children were ready to go to college, Jerry continued with the farm and also got his Real Estate license; thus another adventure started for him. He loved the profession, meeting people and listening to their story.
His grandchildren have now continued on his legacy. Sydney, Megan, Erin, and Parker each is unique, ambitious and have been influential in their chosen paths.
After dedicating his life to his family, service to St. Francis Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and a multitude of other community boards, he will now be at rest with his God. He left this world on July 2, 2019 and was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Dorothy Slezak. He is survived by his wife, Sharon; children, Kathy (Bob) Gennette of Tucson, AZ, Sherry Harbaugh of Spokane, WA, Dan (Catherine) of Whitefish, Ken (Brenda) of Conrad; brothers, David (Zerelda) of Port Orchard, WA, Roger (Diane) of Port Orchard, WA; and sister, Marla (Gerald) Bruner of Conrad.
