John A. Chambers, 74, a retired oil field worker and Army Veteran from Cut Bank, passed away Wednesday, July 10 th , at the Marias Medical Center due to a stroke. Memorial services will be held 1:00 pm, Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Cut Bank. Whitted Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
He was born October 2, 1938 at Cut Bank to John and Eunice (Victal) Chambers. He grew up in Kevin where he attended grade school and later graduated from Sunburst High School. He served 6 years with the Natl. Guard and US Army. He operated a well service business in the North Toole County Oil Fields for many years. He married Mary Drader September 28, 1970 at Shelby.
He was a member of the Methodist Church and enjoyed going to the mountains, camping and fishing.
John had a soft heart and would do anything to help others. He will greatly missed by all his family and many friends. He loved being around his family especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Mary of Cut Bank; daughters, Jonette (Cleve) Johannsen of Sunburst, Michelle (David) Brown of Cut Bank, Sylvia Chambers of Great Falls and Susan Brock of Milk River; sons, Robbie Cook of Great Falls, Christopher (Callie) Chambers of Hamilton and Steven Chambers of Cut Bank; 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Sharon Habets of Kevin and Denora (David) Nedved of Kalispell.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ron.
