Joseph Daniel Blockeel

On Friday, May 24, 2024, Joseph Daniel Blockeel passed away from a sudden brain aneurysm at the age of 23. Joe was born October 22, 2000 to Albert and Carolyn Blockeel and was the youngest of the family with little brother, Dustin, and older sister, Kesha.

He was born and raised north of Conrad on the family farm and grew up with a knack for working on anything mechanical and helping with cows. Joe went to school in Conrad and graduated in 2019. 

He had his prized 1994 Chevy Pickup that had been passed down from his dad to his older brother and finally to Joe. The family history meant a lot and modifying it was one of Joe's great passions. He later moved on to another Chevy of the same era and began to do much of the same to it.  

Motorcycles were also something Joe enjoyed and he was often found helping push cows with his Yamaha TW200 that also had Joe's signature LED lights and loud exhaust. 

Harvest time was always looked forward to because that meant Joe got to go trucking. He loved getting to run the semi back and forth to town and spend time with family out in the field waiting to have it filled up and make another run. 

Summer weekends were most enjoyed up camping with family. He loved having French toast cooked over the fire for breakfast, hiking or playing games with his nephews and finishing the night by the fire with Phase 10.

Joe is survived by his parents, Albert and Carolyn Blockeel, little brother Dustin Blockeel and nephew Walker, sister Kesha Ophus (Chet) and nephews Ryker and Oliver and Grandmother Linda VandenBos. 

A public vigil and rosary will be held on Monday, June 3,  at 6pm and funeral mass will be Tuesday, June 4,  at 10am. Both services will be at St. Michael's Catholic Church.
