Joseph J Kleinsasser

August 6, 1928 — April 14, 2013

Joseph J Kleinsasser, 84, a retired school teacher from Hidden Lake Hutterite Colony, passed away at the colony on April 14, 2013, from natural causes.  Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, April 17, at noon with burial to follow in the colony cemetery.

Joseph was born August 6, 1928 at Milford Colony near Raymond, Alberta to Joseph and Susie (Wipf) Kleinsasser.  He was a school teacher and gardener at Milford Colony near Augusta, Montana for 20 years.  He retired from teaching and moved to Big Sky Colony where he made brooms for 18 years and helped with the dairy and ranch cows.  Then he moved to Hidden Lake and continued to make brooms for another 12 years.  He and Elizabeth Waldner were married at Milford Colony at Augusta on June 19, 1952.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; children, Joseph (Anna) Kleinsasser, Elizabeth (John) Kleinsasser, Sam (Annie) Kleinsasser,  John Kleinsasser, Leonard (Justina) Kleinsasser, William (Elizabeth) Kleinsasser, all of Hidden Lake, Susie (Paul) Waldner of Sage Creek,  and Lydia (Joseph) Hofer of Rim Rock Colony; as well as 23 grandchildren and 12 great-grand-children.  He is also survived by siblings William, John and Peter Kleinsasser of Elk Creek Colony, Magdalena Hofer of Hillcrest Colony, Susie Wipf of River View Colony, Anna Hofer of Milford Colony, and Mary Wipf of Martinsdale Colony.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Paul Kleinsasser.

Joseph loved gardening, teaching and reading the Bible.
