Josette Kienenberger Riphenburg, 48, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at her home in Conrad, MT.
Josette was a loving mother and grandmother, and her children and grandchildren were the light of her life. She was also a devoted wife to her husband, Shaun, sharing countless cherished memories together.
Josette had a deep love for sunflowers, dogs, and most of all, horses. She possessed a natural gift with horses, able to bond with any breed effortlessly. Alongside her husband and children, Josette also found great purpose and joy in firefighting, bravely working to protect her community.
A dedicated caregiver, Josette was passionate about helping others. She spent countless hours tending to the yard and garden she and Shaun nurtured together, a source of pride and beauty in their lives.
Josette cherished her Grandma Honey, whom she regarded as a mother figure. Grandma Honey played a significant role in Josette's upbringing, and Josette remained loyally by her side until her passing, a testament to their deep and enduring bond.
Josette is survived by her husband, Shaun Riphenburg of Conrad, MT; her children: Angel (Juan) of North Carolina, Colter of Conrad, Nevaeh of Conrad, Conner of Conrad, and Kyla (Sheldon) of Bozeman, MT; and her beloved grandchildren: Carmen, Nova, Daxton, Heavenley, and a baby boy expected in May.
She is also survived by her stepmother, Helen (Mike) of Shelby, MT; her siblings: Tracie (Meshal) of Cut Bank, MT, Kelly (Billy) of Shelby, MT, and Rocky Jr. of Conrad, MT; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
Josette was preceded in death by her parents, Rodney “Rocky Sr.” and Tina Short, and all of her grandparents.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 27, at 2:00 PM at 537 Iowa Loop, Conrad, MT 59425. A reception will follow at The Moose Lodge, located at 617 S Main St, Conrad, MT.

Josette will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her warmth, courage, and unwavering devotion to her family will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
