Elsie Judith Huyghe, 96, passed Sunday, August 30, 2020, at PMC Extended Care Facility.

She was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada on February 4, 1924 to Jeanne and Jerome Merlevede, the third of four daughters.  She graduated from high school and took a business course to work as secretary and file clerk for Manitoba Steel Foundry and later at the Canadian National Railway.

Judy married Arthur Huyghe in 1951. They had one son, David, and later divorced.

Judy worked at the Pioneer Nursing Home as a nurse’s aide and then Activity Director from 1972 to 1991.  She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and was a long-time member of St. Michael Catholic Church.  She loved her family and friends.

Survivors include son, David (Linda); grandson, Robert (Stephanie); and great granddaughter, Adeline; three nephews; and many friends, especially Kim VanDam, Beth Struab, and Sharon Mellott. She was preceded in death by her sisters and her only niece.

Private services will be Thursday, September 3, followed by burial in Hillside Cemetery at 3pm. Public is invited to burial. Social distancing protocol will be enforced.
