Karen Jean (Seifert) Bergman

July 10, 1951 — November 9, 2014

Karen Jean Bergman, 63 of Ethridge, Montana passed away on November 9, 2014 unexpectedly of natural causes.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday November 15, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church in Cut Bank, Montana. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Whitted Funeral Chapel.

Karen was born in Cut Bank, Montana on July 10, 1951 to Edward R. and Betty L. Seifert. She graduated from Cut Bank High School May of 1970. She was married to Mike DeKaye and with that union had 2 children son Jason and daughter Jennifer and later divorced. She was then married to Monte Gossard in which she had a daughter Jamie and was later divorced. On June 17, 2006 Karen married Michael L. (Bergy) Bergman in Coeur d’Alene, ID.

Karen worked at the Glacier Bank, at the IGA store in Cut Bank for 16 years, the local Deli for several years and just recently started working for the United State Postal Service where she was the clerk at the Ethridge Post Office. She has also spent many hours helping her Mom so that she can continue to live independently.

You could often find Karen working in her yard and garden. She loved caring for her flowers, growing and harvesting her garden. She was a wonderful homemaker, excellent bowler and seamstress; making quilts and all of Bergy’s hats. She enjoyed camping, snowmobiling and truly loved the recent trips she took with Bergy and 2 of her sisters and their spouses. But the biggest joys in her life were her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Michael (Bergy), Son Master Sergeant Jason (Joanna) DeKaye, grandsons Justin & John of Erie, PA; Daughter Jennifer Marsicano, granddaughters Taylor and Maranda and grandson Keenan of Shelby, MT, Daughter Jamie of Billings, MT and stepdaughter Heather, grandson Chase of Missoula, MT. Mother Betty of Cut Bank. Sister Patricia (Joe) Congdon of Manchester, CT, Sister Marlene (Robert) Daley of Big Fork, MT; Sister Betty Ann Borninkhof of Sturgis, SD, Brothers Edward (Jackie Knutson) Seifert Jr. of Belgrade, MT, Thomas Seifert of Cut Bank, MT, Sister Barbara (Don Denning) Jenkins of Lewistown, MT. and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws and out-laws.

She was preceded in death by her Father Edward Seifert and sister-in-law Nell Seifert.
