Karin Rose Grubb David, 80, passed away Friday, April 26, 2024, at the nursing home in Conrad after a brief battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 11 at 11 a.m. at the Conrad Mission Church. Cremation has taken place.
Karin was born on March 26, 1944, at Bertha, Minn., to William and Clara Grubb. The family eventually moved to Conrad where Karin graduated from Conrad High School. She attended Northern Montana University in Havre where she earned her teaching degree. She then went on to obtain her master’s degree and taught in Enumclaw, Wash., and Ronan.
Karin met her husband William “Willie” David, and they were married June 22, 1968, in Conrad. The couple eventually built a home in Montana City and opened their home with exceptional hospitality to their many family members and friends. Karin owned the H&R Block in Helena while Willie worked construction.
Upon retiring, they began to winter in Arizona where Karin discovered a passion for quilting. She made each new baby in the family a quilt – these heirlooms will be treasured through the generations. She was a master at sending out birthday cards to her many family members that arrived early or right on time!
Willie passed away in 2021 of cancer. After that first winter, Karin said she woke up one morning and she knew God wanted her to move back to her hometown of Conrad. She moved into her new home in the summer of 2023 and immediately began giving selflessly of her time and talents to her family and her church. She enjoyed her weekly Bible Study group and her new quilting friends.
Karin was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willie David; her brother Byron Grubb; and niece Kelly Grubb.
Karin is survived by her brothers, Erling (Loretta) Grubb of Conrad and Donovan (Patty) Grubb of Cut Bank; her beloved dog Lucy; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews, whom she loved to spoil and spend time with.
Karin, we will miss your phone calls just to chat and especially your devotion to your family – thank you for the legacy you leave behind of loving God and serving others as our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ did.
