Karl Gustav Fredrick Heptner, 91, passed on September 22, 2022.
Memorial service will be Tuesday, September 27, at 1pm at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.
Karl was born on March 20, 1931 in Riversdörf, Germany to Fredrick and Clara Heptner. He resided in Shelby on a rural farm and was employed by the Toole County Road Department for more than 30 years. Karl married Hildegard Buchberger on November 5, 1955 in Halstad, Germany.
Karl enjoyed his family, traveling, farming, and polka dancing with Hildegard. He was always ready to give a helping hand to friends, neighbors, and any person in need. He was actively involved with the Lutheran Church of Shelby and a man of God. He had a strong work ethic, was loyal and honest, as well as a true citizen that served his community and country. He was loved by all and will be missed greatly.
Survived by his wife of 66 years, Hildegard; daughter, Shirley (Eric) Heptner Nilsen, grandson, Chad; son, Ron Heptner, grandson Korey (Laura), and great granddaughters Hattie and Noa; grandson, Kameron (Stephanie) Heptner, great grandchildren, Xavier, Vincent, Jayde, and Brie; grandsons, Kristofer and Kyle Heptner; Monica (Carlos) Heptner de Lucas, granddaughter, Marcela (Greiven), great granddaughter Alana; grandson, Andrew (Aspen); son, Norman (Valerie) Heptner, granddaughter, Jessie (Brian) Ressel, great grandchildren, Sophi and Luke; son, Jimmy (Sierra) Heptner, great grandchildren Heston and Halle; grandchildren, Rachel and Will Heptner; and nieces, Christina and Martina.
He is preceded in death by brother, Hans and sister, Hildegard.
