Kathleen Mary Big Spring, 95, long time ranch wife from East Glacier, passed away Monday, February 18, 2013 at the Glacier Care Center in Cut Bank. Memorial Mass will be 11:00 am Friday, February 22nd, at the Church of the Ascension at East Glacier. Whitted Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her sisters, Theresa (Carlyle) Fauley of Lakeside and Helen Show of Browning; sister-in-law, Katherine (Gary) Schwanzberger; three grandchildren, Julie Big Spring, Willie Big Spring and Angela Conway, and six great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband William Big Spring Sr. and her son William Big Spring Jr.
She was born September 11, 1917 at Minneapolis, MN to Stephen & Catherine (Lawler) Ryan where she grew up.
She married William Big Spring October 7, 1940 at the Little Flower Parish at Browning. The couple ranched together near East Glacier for many years.
Kathleen was very proud of the fact that she had lived to be 95, leaving a long legacy for her family to follow. She was very loving and caring to her family especially her grandchildren.
She was a member of the Church of Ascension, Alter Society, East Glacier Woman’s Club and the Republican Party and their affiliations.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles, art, gardening and keeping up on her daily journal.
