Kathryn A. Greer

February 18, 1931 — January 5, 2018

Kathryn Alice Knox Greer was born February 18, 1931 at the Deaconess Hospital in Great Falls and left us to reserve a special campsite in Heaven on January 5, 2018.  She moved to the Fairfield Bench with her mom and dad, Gilbert Mason and Nella Knox, her sister Joyce, and brothers, Owen and Duane Knox.

Kay met James (Jim) Andrew Greer, the love of her life, her first day of 7th grade at Simms School. Kay graduated from Simms High School in May and married Jim on June 1, 1949.  Jim and Kay were richly blessed with 5 children; daughters (Barbara) Bobbie Kay (Barry) Bevars, Sharon Marie Greer, Jaynie Rae (Rich) Gollehon, Kathy Jo (Jayson) Gottlob, and son James Mason (Kelly) Greer.

Kay and Jim began their married life on the family farm in Simms. They lived for a short time in San Diego, CA, only to return to their quiet living in Simms.  In 2003 they moved to Conrad where they continued to share their retired life together.

Aside from her love of raising her family, Kay enjoyed playing basketball in high school, operating the buck rake, sewing, listening to her children sing, camping and sitting around the campfire with family, dancing with Jim, going for drives in the mountains, puzzles and games.  She spent her whole life living, laughing and loving.

Kay had many special gifts to share with her family and friends. A few to mention were her potato salad, homemade strawberry jam, mustard pickles, cheesy eggs, Cherries-in-the-Snow, love of card games, ability to lose with grace, and her precious smile.

There to welcome Kay into her Heavenly home were her parents; her sister, Joyce, and brother in law, Pete; brother, Owen, and sister in law, Virginia; and numerous loved ones. Kay’s life continues through her husband and their children, 8 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren; her brother, Duane, sister in law (Elaine); many numerous nieces and nephews and, of course, the Ruben and Dot Gebhardt family.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 20th, 2018, one-o’clock at the Pondera Funeral Home with a luncheon to follow at the Moose Hall in Conrad. A graveside service is to be determined at a later date.

Donations in Kay’s memory may be made to the Community Cancer Foundation PO Box 743, Conrad MT 59425, the Simms Methodist Church PO Box 208, Simms MT 59477, or any charitable contribution of your choice.
