A beloved son and brother, Kevin Dwayne Thielmann, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 62, at home on October 1, 2022.
Kevin was born February 7, 1960 to Carole and Roger Thielmann in Conrad, MT, where he lived most of his life. Kevin attended college at MSU in Bozeman, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He used his degree working for the State of Montana for 35 years.
He was an avid outdoorsman, spending his time hunting and fishing in the state he loved, and traveling to hunt and fish in Alaska and Canada. He loved riding his motorcycle and made many summer trips with a group of friends. Other hobbies consisted of wood working, making everything from art to fishing lures to furniture.
He is known for his big laugh. He felt on of his greatest accomplishments was being awarded Montana Bow Hunter of the Year in 1998, where he harvested five animals in a single year.
Survivors include his mother, Carole Thielmann; three brothers, Doug (Rachel) Thielmann of Conrad, Scott (Jennifer) Thielmann of Conrad and Richard (Stacy) of Gardnerville, NV; his sister, Shelly (Kip) DeBoo of Valier; his nieces and nephews, Ty DeBoo, Brandon Thielmann Courtney DeBoo-Smith, Amelia DeBoo, Michaela DeBoo-Mayer and Hunter Thielman; and his daughter Ashton (Kris) Hofstad.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to the Pondera Shooting Sports Club, P.O. Box 691, Conrad, MT 59425, or to the Montana Bowhunters Association, P.O. Box 426, Helena, MT 59624. Asper Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Memorial services will be Saturday, October 29, at 11:00am at Pondera Vallery Lutheran Church. A reception at the church to follow service.
