Larry Alan Curtiss passed away March 9, 2020 in Great Falls following a long battle with cancer.
Larry was born July 8, 1947 to Orville and Ruth (Vigen) Curtiss in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, the oldest of three children. The family moved to Cut Bank in 1951 where Larry attended school, graduating from Cut Bank High School in 1965. After graduation he enlisted in the Navy, serving during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1970. He was Storekeeper Second Class on the USS Howard W. Gilmore and USS WASP aircraft carrier. Following his military service, he returned to Cut Bank and married Deanna Anderson. Together they had four children: Alan, Eric, Timothy, and Sonja. In 1986 he married Patricia (Penny) Duncan and adopted her children, Holly and Mitchell. Larry was a loving father who worked hard to raise and provide for his blended family. He worked many years for Alme Construction and later owned and operated a computer repair business, LCH Computers, in Cut Bank. Throughout his life, he had a passion for singing and playing music, building guitars, and riding his motorcycle.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Ruth; sister, Deanna Deming (Curtiss); son, Eric J. Curtiss; and granddaughter, Jillian Murillo.
He is survived by his wife, Penny; brother, Paul Curtiss; sons, Alan (Vanessa) Curtiss, Timothy (Michelle) Curtiss, and Mitchell Curtiss; daughters, Sonja (Kevin) Simpson and Holly (Trini) Murillo; and grandchildren, Ian (Christy), Macy, Salem, and Marshall Curtiss; JJ Aulsebrook, Lily and Tyler Simpson; and Sierra, Shelby, and Sydney Murillo.
Memorial services will be Wednesday, July 8, at 3pm at Prairie Peace Lutheran Church. Burial with military honors will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
