Larry Richard Premo, 74, of Shelby, passed on September 13th, 2020 after a short battle with cancer.
Larry was born on July 29th, 1946 in Stanley, North Dakota to Edward and Virginia Premo. Larry and family moved to Kevin, MT at an early age. Then they moved to Sunburst, MT where he attended grade school and part of high school. Larry and his family later moved to Shelby, MT where he would finish out his high school career. He lived in numerous places after high school, but always returned to Shelby, which is where he considered home.
Larry grew up playing basketball. As an adult, he found a passion for carpentry, which became his career up until his last days. Larry was an avid sports fan and spent numerous hours traveling to his daughter and grandchildren’s sporting events. Along with his passion for sports, he was an enthusiastic women’s softball coach. Larry’s competitive spirit was contagious to many.
Larry is survived by his daughter, Shelly Premo Habets (Pat) of Billings; grandson, Jade Premo (Breanna) of Billings; granddaughter, Jacey Frank (Jacob) of Great Falls; brother, Clifton Premo (Karlin) of DuPont, WA; brother-in-law, Ernie Gonzalez of Shelby; dear friend, Judy Kerchner (puppy Trucky) of Shelby; and several nieces and nephews.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Virginia; sister, Sheila; and niece, Kimberly.
Graveside services will take place at Mountain View Cemetery on Friday, September 18th, at 2 pm. A gathering for friends and family will take place at the Dixie Inn following the service. Larry will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
