LaVern was born June 14, 1932 to Henry and Marie (Heitz) Rewerts in Doniphan NE. At a young age they moved to Crook CO where he completed his high school education and worked on the family farm. He married the love of his life, Gloria Koehler, a short 60 years ago and together they had three children. Shortly after they were married, he was called to service after his brother returned from Korea. After his discharge he began his career as a manager of an oil well service store and continued in that line of work until his retirement in 1995. They lived in Sterling CO, Cut Bank MT, Williston ND, and Thermopolis WY, before returning home to Cut Bank to be near family and friends.
LaVern was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. His passions were family, fishing, card playing, gardening, and the outdoor life. He and Gloria spent much time traveling to watch their children and grandchildren participate in activities; they were always their most avid fans.
He is survived by his wife Gloria of Cut Bank, daughters Sharon Hannah (Bill) of Cut Bank and Shelly Rewerts of Shelby; son Rik Rewerts (Diane) of Libby; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. LaVern is also survived by his three brothers, James, Gilbert and Larry, their spouses and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Marie Rewerts and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Reubon and Ameilia Koehler.
