She barely broke five feet tall, but you wouldn’t know it for the personality that was bursting out of her tiny frame. Linda Yaskiw was born in Russell, Manitoba, Canada on December 10, 1947. She moved with her brothers and parents to Calgary, Alberta where she grew up, married, and had five children. The last chapter of her life found her relocating to Shelby where she worked at the local correctional institution. A loud and ginormous laugh would announce her presence, and how she loved to laugh at the silliest of things. Linda immersed herself in knitting, needlepoint, anything British, drinking tea, and the music of Neil Diamond. Linda was very proud of her children and grandchildren. She was a dreamer and a giver. Her death will leave a void that will not go unnoticed. Instead of flowers, please, make a donation to your local cancer society.
Survivors include her children, Angelese Hood, Aundria Hood, Jeremy Hood, Stephanie Dulmadge, and Jessica Dulmadge; and numerous grandchildren.
