Shelby

Lois Rosellen Rasmussen was born on September 20, 1929, on a farm near Gentiana, Montana. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 5, 2025, at the age of 95.

Lois was preceded in death by her loving parents, Lars and Florence (Stahn) Rasmussen; her brothers Clifford, Raymond, Barnard (Ken), and Lowell; and her sister Carol & husband Clifford Harden

She is survived by her five devoted children and their spouses, Gail ( Rollye) Nation of Shelby, MT, Beverly (Larry) Huen of Portland, OR, Norma Boyer (Dave) of Great Falls, MT, Kemper (Terry) Harden of Tualatin, OR, and Carla (Terry) Summerlin of Vancouver, WA. She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren,13 great-grandchildren, & 3 great-great grandchildren of whom brought her immeasurable amount of joy.

Additionally, she is survived by her sister-in-law, Aunt Ramona Rasmussen, and many beloved cousins from both the Rasmussen and Harden families.

Lois graduated from Opheim High School in the spring of 1946. That same year, during prom season, her mother Florence suggested to a young man named Clifford Harden that he take Lois to the dance. That simple act sparked a lifelong love, and Lois and Cliff were married on October 6, 1948. Together they raised a family and shared a life filled with love, faith, and adventure, living in Southern California, Central Washington, Western Montana, and eventually settling in Chester, Montana. Mom was an avid card player. Everybody that came to visit was either taught and/or schooled by her when they played Skip-boo!

Lois worked in the kitchen and laundry departments at Liberty County Hospital until her retirement in 1985. In 1954, she and her husband dedicated their lives to Jehovah and were baptized together. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Lois was deeply committed to her faith. She shared Bible truths through door-to-door ministry, letter writing, phone calls, and Zoom meetings—always eager to help others understand the hope found in God’s promises.

She looked forward with confidence to waking up in a restored paradise and being reunited with loved ones she held so dear.

Lois will be remembered for her strong faith, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for her family.

Services tentatively set for July 26th 2025.
