Louis Nobby Larson

February 25, 1926 — May 23, 2014

Louis “Nobby” Larson, 88, of Browning, Montana passed away peacefully Friday, May 23 rd at Glacier Care Center in Cut Bank, Montana.

Services will be held at Little Flower Catholic Church in Browning, Montana on Friday, May 30, 2014 at 2:00 pm followed by burial at Willow Creek Cemetery.  Viewing and Rosary will be held Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Glacier Homes Center at 7:00 pm.

Nobby was born February 25, 1926 in Browning, Montana to Melvina Racine Larson and Louis J. Larson.  Nobby was raised in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains, and graduated from Browning High School in 1943.  He was proud to be a part the Browning Indian Championship basketball and football teams.  While in high school he met the love of his life, Audrey Higgins Larson and they were married December 12, 1943, and spent the next 68 years together.  Nobby enlisted in the Navy, and was stationed in San Diego, California.  Upon his return to Browning, he fulfilled lifelong dream of owning a cattle ranch near Blackfoot, Montana.  He and Audrey raised two children there, Jackie Larson Bread and Jerry Larson.  Nobby was a true cowboy at heart and was a championship calf roper and team roper.

Nobby was preceded in death by his beloved wife Audrey, parents Melvina and Louis Larson, brother Verlin (Buzz) Larson, sister Hilda Larson Kramer, uncle Carl Larson, grandparents Frank and Nettie (Schildt) Racine, Christopher and Ellen Larson, and nephew Johnny Larson.

Nobby is survived by daughter Jackie, son-in-law Nathan Bread, grandchildren (the loves of his life) Paris and Jade Bread of Great Falls, Montana, son Jerry Larson of San Jose, California, much loved sister Faye Hoyt, brother-in-law and best friend Jim Hoyt, brother-in-law Gayle Kramer of Browning, Montana, and brother-in-law Robert Higgins of Pontiac, Michigan, as well as several very loved nieces and nephews.

Nobby is very loved by his friends and family and he will be greatly missed.
