Lucas Fowler

June 30, 1996 — August 9, 2024

Conrad

Luke was born to Matt and Donna Fowler on June 30, 1996. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lucas Paul Fowler, who tragically lost his life in an accident on August 9, 2024.

Luke lived life with a passion and enjoyed doing what he wanted, when he wanted. Always on his own “Luke time”, his presence and departure were as unpredictable as they were cherished.

Luke was known for his care-free attitude and having “no fear”. He was passionate for the outdoors and enjoyed all the great things Montana had to offer including hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles and snowmobiles. He was the kind of guy who lived on a whim, heading to the mountains whenever he had the chance. Luke was an avid mountain man and outdoorsman, spending a great amount of time in the mountains with his three hound dogs and his friends, scouting and hunting for animals. During all of Luke’s adventures, he made a great amount of friends and touched a large amount of lives. Memories of Luke are filled with joy, laughter, and the thrill of the wild adventures he shared with those around him.

After graduating from Conrad High School, Luke pursued a career as an Electric Lineworker (Lineman) attending the NorthWest Lineman College in Idaho. Luke excelled in the program receiving several awards for high performance and natural talent. Following graduation, Line Work took Luke all around the country and beyond, even working in Puerto Rico helping to restore power after a hurricane. Again, during Luke’s travels, he made many friends and connections along the way. During his travels with Probst Electric, Luke and his co-workers lived in campers forming a small living community which ultimately turned into his family while on the road and lifelong friends. Luke eventually returned home to Conrad. Luke continued off and on to work on powerlines locally as a lineman. He also worked with longtime family friend Joe Russell and for Joe Russell Trucking. In 2024 Luke secured his dream job with Sun River Electric working there until his passing. Luke had expressed to his friends and family before his passing how much he loved his new job.

Luke had a deep affection for all kids, and most knew him as Uncle Lukey or Uncle Kook.

Luke’s time on earth was short but filled with adventure. His presence will be missed but we celebrate that he is with our Lord and Savior now.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Oscar and Edna Totdahl and Kathleen Fowler. His aunt Luann McClain and uncle Terry Bakken.

Luke is survived by his parents Matt and Donna Fowler, his Brother Andrew (Chelsea) Fowler, his Sister Morgan (Colbey) VanDyke, his niece and nephew Keltey and Kolsyn Fowler, and his girlfriend Katryna Racki, and his three hound dogs Bear, Copper and Skippe. Along with his grandfather Tom Fowler, Luke is survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous close friends, too many to list individually.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on August 17th at the Pondera Valley Lutheran Church, with a reception to follow at the Pondera Shooting Sports Complex.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Pondera Valley Lutheran Church or Sun River Electric Cooperative’s education scholarship.
