Marcia R. (Anderson) Luedtke

December 29, 1953 — September 1, 2014

Marcia R. Luedtke, of Cut Bank, passed away Monday, September 1, 2014 at Northern Rockies Medical Center in Cut Bank.

Memorial service will be 4:00 pm on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Cut Bank.  Memorial donations can be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, or to the charity of choice in Marcia’s name.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitted Funeral Chapel in Cut Bank.

Marcia was born December 29, 1953 in Fayetteville, North Carolina to Floyd and Donna (Brunkow) Anderson.  She graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in Saint Peter, Minnesota in Elementary Education in 1976 and then began her career as a teacher.  She moved to Cut Bank and taught 4 th grade in Browning for 6 years.  She married Tim Luedtke of Cut Bank at St. Paul Lutheran Church on June 9, 1979.  Marcia continued her teaching career as a substitute teacher in the Cut Bank School District, and then in 2001 became the elementary PE teacher until she could no longer work because of her illness.  She loved teaching and was dedicated to her career.

In addition to teaching, Marcia was also a dedicated farm wife and mother for 35 years at the family farm with Tim and their two children, Sam and Kate.  Together they grew wheat and barley, and raised cattle.  Marcia was also active in the community serving as St. Paul Lutheran Church Council President, was the Montana Education Association Union treasurer, and enjoyed bowling with her friends.

Marcia is survived by her husband of 35 years, Tim Luedtke at home; her children Sam Luedtke and Kate (Eric) Morrisett; and her biggest joy in life, grandson Alec Morrisett.  She is also survived by her siblings Michael Anderson, Geri Nelson, Janet Anderson, and Patty (John) Dombovy; her father-in-law Victor (Jean) Luedtke; sister-in-law Marlene Luedtke; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Donna Anderson; a brother Steven Anderson; her mother-in-law Marilyn Luedtke; and brother-in-law Ron Luedtke.
