Margaret (Rice) Yarn, age 89, a homemaker, passed away Friday, April 25, 2013 due to complications of diabetes. She was the daughter of Ray and Cecile Rice. Margaret was born on February 6, 1925 in Libby, Montana. She lived there for 19 years, graduating from Libby High School June 1944. Margaret went to telegrapher school in Santa Cruz, California and graduated in August 1944. She was sent to Pasco, Washington where she worked for Western Union. There she met her husband, Larry and was later married in Lewiston, Idaho. They then moved to Montgomery, Alabama for two years. Her oldest boys, Steven and Larry Jr. were born there and Larry’s parents lived there as well. Margaret and Larry moved back to Libby in 1948 where they raised 5 children. In 1972 they moved to Tacoma, Washington because of Larry’s health. In 1981 they moved to Gillette, Wyoming and then in 1987 they moved to Shelby, Montana where Margaret lived at Marias Manor until she passed away.
She enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Putting together jig-saw puzzles, giving her crocheted gifts to others and crafting. Margaret was also a butterfly collector.
She is survived by a son Larry (Deb) Yarn, two daughters, Donna (Lee) Haberman of Mesa, Arizona and Julie Schomer of Gillette, Wyoming, Twelve grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, two nephews, one niece
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her son Steven Ray, a grandson Steven Ray Haberman and her husband Larry, a son Jay and her sister, Ruth Botcheck of Kalispell, Montana.
