Marie Elizabeth (Petersen) Kraft left this world September 30th, 2022. She was born January 17th, 1932 in Bassano, Alberta, Canada. Her parents were Frits and Helga Petersen, who immigrated and homesteaded in Alberta. Marie Attended one room schools in the area, and High school in Standard, Alberta. She Also attended Mount Royal College in Calgary. For her high academic standing, she was awarded the Board of Governor’s medal at Mount Royal. She was a graduate of the university of Nebraska with a degree in Medical Technology. Marie worked at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. She was the blood bank supervisor there until she moved to Cut Bank, Montana. She married Robert Kraft in Cut Bank on March 29th, 1986.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Husband Robert, Daughter, Karren Harris, and Stepson, Ronald Kraft. As well as many relatives in Denmark. She is survived by her son Greg (Daranne) Harris of Calgary, stepchildren Allen (Patsy) Kraft, Marlene (Loren) Johnson, Rick (Andrea) Kraft, Lynn (Greg) Warwick, Grandchildren Mike (Lindsay) Kraft, Erin (Jamie) Arnold, and Spencer Harris, and great grandchildren Emma Kraft and Addison Arnold.
Marie loved animals, which she showed by her generous donations to the ASPCA as well as other animal protection groups. She also made regular donations to Shriners Children Hospital and the Wounded Warriors of Montana. Marie loved sewing, cooking, and her computer. She was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Cut Bank for many years.
A private graveside service will be held at Valley View Cemetery later in October.
In lieu of flowers, it has been requested that donations be made to the organizations listed above.
