Mary M (Middlesworth) Burns

Mary M. Burns, age 93, of Cut Bank, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 15, 2014 at Glacier Care Center in Cut Bank.

Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Whitted Funeral Chapel in Cut Bank.  Funeral service will be 11:00 am on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at the First Presbyterian Church in Cut Bank.  Mary will be laid to rest on Monday, January 5 at Crown Hill Cemetery in Cut Bank.  Whitted Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements.  Please visit Mary’s online memorial and leave a message of condolence for the family at www.whittedfuneralchapel.com .

Mary was born May 31, 1921 in Red Lodge, Montana to Lloyd and Elizabeth (Bender) Middlesworth.  She attended elementary and high school in Shelby.  She married John Burns in September of 1942.  Together, they owned and operated Burns Funeral Homes and served the Glacier and Toole County areas. Mary retired in 1978.  She was a member of the 1 ^st Presbyterian Church in Cut Bank.  She served her community and was active in the VA Women’s Auxiliary, was a Pink Lady, and was a charter member of the Soroptomists.

She is survived by her two sons William L. Burns and Dan M. Burns; her grandchildren Danelle, Rodney, Zachary, Billy, Brian and Conor Burns; and 5 great grandchildren.; her grandchildren Danelle, Rodney  She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Raymond and Herbert Middlesworth, and her husband “Jack”.
