Mary Faith Elkins, 67, passed on March 16, 2023 in Conrad.
Mary was born August 8th 1955 in Conrad to Charles and Marina Elkins. She was the youngest of their four children. She was very social and always on the go. Sports were one of her favorite pastimes. Basketball, Softball, FHA and working at the local hospital kept her busy growing up. Her Senior Summer she worked in Glacier Park at ST Mary’s. Her job at the hospital would encourage her to attend nursing school in Great Falls. Upon her graduation in 1978, she began her career at the Conrad Hospital where she would work until illness forced her retirement in 2019. Her dedication was unmatched. She co-ran the CPR and CNA program for many years. She trained many healthcare workers in her career. Patient care was her mission. Her social personality also led her to a part time job at the Lariat Bar. While not caring for patients she was serving up everyone's favorite cocktails to her loyal patrons. She was loved by everyone she touched.
While not working, you would find her with family and friends. Although she never married or had children of her own - her friends and family meant everything to her. She was famous for spoiling them with her baked goods. Christmas,Holidays, Weddings, etc. would mean Birthday Cakes, Wedding cakes, the famous mints and treats.
Her family and friends had the best fan in Conrad. Mary cheered them all on. She never missed an event. Football, Baseball, Softball, Bowling, Recitals, and even Hockey, she was there. With her bright red Conrad coat, she would be cheering passionately. She donated her time and resources to the community. At VFW fundraisers, Mary would be instrumental in setting up the Christmas stroll and any rummage sales. She started the Pit Crew for the PMC Hospital. Her time was always given to others with nothing expected in return. Saint Michael's Parish was her second home. Her faith was unmatched. She regularly attended prayer groups and all church events. Nothing would come in the way of her attending mass.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Chuck. She will be greatly missed by her family; sisters, Dian (Dan) Smith and Yvonne (David) Klette; Uncle James Rencurel; Aunt Irene ( James) Becker; nieces, Jodi(Gail) James and Tonya(Dale) Breding; nephews, Brian (Krystal ) Doheny and Josh Smith; great niece, Jade (Brandon) Bliss; great nephews, Dylan and Ryan James, Alec Breding, and Jordan Barnes; and great niece and nephew, Sadie and Charlie Bliss.
