Mary Lou (Christensen) Lewis, 88, a homemaker from Cut Bank, died of natural causes on July 31, 2015 at the Northern Rockies Medical Center. A private family service will be held November 7 th .
Mary Lou was born May 10, 1927, in Casper, Wyoming. She graduated from Shelby High School in 1945. She also attended Stephens College in Missouri and graduated from University of Oregon at Eugene in 1949. She was then employed at the Bank of Glacier County. Mary Lou and John married in March of 1951. They had been married 53 years when John passed away in 2004. She continued to live alone in their home until 6 weeks before her death.
Survivors include her children, Susan (Ted) Browning of Mosby, Kristen (Sidney) Brandon of Cut Bank, Karen Kraus of Billings, Mark (Joyce) Lewis of Cut Bank, Miles (Diana) Lewis of Cut Bank; grandchildren Katie (Scott) Anderson of Denver Colorado, Samantha (Noah) Pyle of Libby, Matt (Amanda) Lewis of Carrollton, Texas, Kyle (Katie) Lewis of Colstrip, Alyssa Kraus of Houston Texas, Chris (Chelsey) Lewis of Emigrant, Michael Kraus of Billings, Lanaia Lewis of Billings, and Megan Lewis of Cut Bank; great-grandchildren Braden Anderson of Denver Colorado, Spencer Lewis of Colstrip, and Kelton Lewis of Colstrip.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband John Lewis, and her grandson Spencer William John Lewis.
Mary Lou enjoyed going to coffee daily with her friends through the years, oftentimes driving those who were unable. Eating Chinese food at Henry’s in Lethbridge, Alberta was a family treat. She loved having her whole family at her house with her grandchildren playing Monopoly until the early hours of the morning. Her family never left her house empty handed; from a necklace, kitchen gadget or just a bag of Cheetos.
Memorials are suggested to the Northern Rockies Medical Center Wishing Well projects in Cut Bank, Montana.
