Mary Ann Sullivan, 87, passed on July 15, 2021.
Memorial service will be Tuesday, July 20, at 10am at St. Francis Catholic Church in Valier. Burial to follow in Dupuyer Cemetery and then a reception at the Dupuyer Community Hall.
Mary Ann was born December 6, 1933 in Lead, South Dakota, and was the second of eight children born to Harry and Victoria (Troyer) VandenBos. The family moved from Lead to north of Conrad when she was 5 years old. Mary Ann attended Lone Tree School until the family moved to Frances Heights. She graduated from Valier High School in 1951. Mary Ann married James Sullivan in 1954 in Ft Huemene, CA while James was enlisted. Jim was stationed in Japan and they lived there until 1956 when their eldest son, Ron, was born. They moved to Bozeman and son, Dan, was born in 1957. The family moved to Browning for 10 years and finally to Dupuyer where son, Jerry, was born in 1969.
Mary Ann was very involved in the Dupuyer community, St. Francis Catholic Church in Valier, and Holy Cross Catholic Church in Dupuyer.
Survivors include her husband, James; children, Ron Sullivan of Conrad, Dan (Libby) Sullivan of Essex, and Jerry (Steph) Sullivan of Valier; grandchildren, Shawn Sullivan, Shannon Naylor, Chris Sullivan, Scott Sullivan, Steven Sullivan, Jerica Sullivan, and Justin Sullivan; 12 great grandchildren; siblings, Harry VandenBos Jr., Joyce Jones, and Shirley Mumm; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Johnny VandenBos, Micky Bilbro, Butch VandenBos, and Billy VandenBos.
