Matt Waller

J. Matthew Waller, 44, passed on Monday, December 5, 2022.

Matt was born April 11, 1978 in Shelby to John and Nina (Seymour) Waller. He graduated from Cut Bank High School and attended University of Montana in Missoula and Montana State University in Bozeman. Matt was an owner and finance manager at Northern Ford in Cut Bank.

He enjoyed cars, shooting sports, fishing, playing music, and camping with family.

He is preceded in death by grandparents, George & Alice Seymour and Henry & Ruth Koepke; and numerous aunts & uncles.

Survivors include his parents, John and Nina Waller; brother, Josh Waller(Kayla); nephews, Benji, Rusty and Zeke; niece, Mykee;  Aunt Jane and Uncle Mike Lindberg; Uncle Norman and Aunt Dorothy Seymour; Uncle Jim Seymour; and many cousins.

A poem wrote to him by his Mom when he was young:

SEEN THROUGH A MOTHER’S EYES

My Matthew is the quiet one

So gentle and serene,

Such kindness and compassion

No one has ever seen

He’s strong at heart and bold in thought,

And yes he stands alone.

I’ll always be there for you son,

Just turn and look around.

Listen to your heart, my son,

Make judgements true and sound.

Place trust in God and hear His Words

And watch your life abound!

I place a gentle kiss on you,

Say prayers, and then with tears,

Thank God for entrusting me with you through all of

Your years.

I love you son, you are a precious one;

God’s gift to Dad and I.

I thank you son for being you and soon, yes

Oh so soon, I’ll have to let you fly.

A thought from his Dad:

Against all child labor laws at age 9 Matthew began working, washing cars and sweeping floors at the family Ford dealership.   From that day on he was very committed to the family business, he was a Ford man through and through. Matt never had a bad word for anyone he was always kind, honest and sincere. Those are the traits every parent wants in their child, I couldn’t be more proud, thank you son.
