Mildred (Milly) Mable (Puckett) Clark
After 95 years of life, on January 28th, 2023 Mildred Clark exited her earthly duties to join her Mother, her Father, and husband Edward “Ted” Clark, along with their daughter Mary Lou Clark, son Sylvan Mark Clark, and Grandson Jacob Edward Clark in the arms of her Heavenly Father.
Mildred was born to Jonah Elmer Puckett and Hettie Cox Johnson Puckett on December 28th, 1927 in Coalwood, West Virginia. Mildred was the second youngest of seven children her siblings included, Vance Puckett, Orville Puckett, Violet Puckett, Pete Puckett, Creighton Puckett, and Charles “Bunny” Puckett. (All preceding her in death) Mildred attended Mountain Mission School for her primary education. Mildred then left home to embark on numerous adventures which included learning to operate heavy machinery and load ammunition into boxcars after the war. After doing this work in Utah for some time she decided to head north to Montana where she became a telephone operator and met her husband, Ted Clark they married on January 20th, 1947, and they had 8 children together. Mary Lou Clark, Billy Jo Clark, Carl Edward Clark, Bobby Gene Clark, Anna Mae Clark (Hall) Jimmy Coy Clark, Johnney Ray Clark, and Sylvan Mark Clark. Mildred enjoyed raising her children on the farm and rural living, where she milked cows, gathered eggs, butcher her own beef, and baked her own bread. In 2021 Mildred joined the Residents at Glacier Care Center in Cut Bank, MT where she learned every staff member’s name and could recall every conversation she had with them. Mildred never met a soul she couldn’t befriend. Mildred passed during her stay in the Glacier Care Center where she impacted many lives. Mildred will be missed by everyone she came in contact with, she will be remembered for her quick wit and spunky personality.
Mildred is survived by her children: Billy Jo Clark (Patty Clark), Carl Edward Clark (Anna Clark), Bobby Gene Clark, Anna Mae Hall, Jimmey Coy Clark, and Johnney Ray Clark (Mary Clark)
Mildred is also survived by several Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Great Great Grandchildren, Nieces, and Nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 2, from 5 to 6:30pm. Funeral service will be Friday, February 3, at 2pm. All services held at Whitted Funeral Chapel Shelby.
