Nancy Jean Pulver Culleton
Nancy Culleton, 83, lifelong resident of Valier, MT, passed away July 16, 2015 at the Pondera Medical Center Extended Care after a long battle with cancer. She died peacefully with Glenn, her husband of 65 years, by her side.
A graveside memorial service will be 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Lakeside Cemetery in Valier. The family suggest memorial donations be made to the Valier Library, as Nancy was an avid reader, 400 Teton Ave, Valier, MT, 59486. Nancy was born September 21, 1931 to Jim and Maude Fitzpatrick Pulver. She attended schools in Dupuyer, Conrad and graduated from Valier High School in 1948. She worked several years at Lloyd and Agee Epie’s Mercantile Store in Valier before marrying Glenn Culleton October 28, 1950 in Conrad, MT. They traveled several years working oil rigs then settled in Valier to farm and raise their family. Nancy was devoted to her family, helping raise her brother Butch after their mother’s passing in 1963 and caring for her father until his passing in 1972. Along with raising her family she was an avid gardener, making the best beet and dill pickles ever! She was den mother for boy scouts and belonged to Pinnacle Club with her good friends Blanche Barron and Virginia Kovatch. She worked several years at Dick’s Grocery Store then became the first Star Route Contract Mail Carrier in the state in 1977, operating the same mail route her father had until retiring in 2005 after 30 years of loyal service to her customers. In 2006 her first great grandchild was born on her 75 th birthday. She took great pleasure watching her great grandchildren grow these last years.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Jim and Maude Pulver; very special nephew Brandon Pulver; in-laws Mark and Inga Culleton, Paul and Kass Chatlain, Jim and Marian Culleton, Dave Culleton, Ruth Kuka, and Dave Grohens.
She is survived by her loving husband Glenn of Conrad, MT; sons Mike of Valier, MT, Roger of Seattle, WA; daughter Beth (Tom) Christiaens of Valier, MT; brother Butch (Vicki) Pulver; sister in law Janice Grohens; brother in law Robert Kuka; grandchildren Neil (Janice) Christiaens of Cut Bank, MT, Nicki (Felisario) Villigran of Conrad, MT; special nephew Tim (Tawnee) Hartwell of Valier; great grandchildren Nate and Maizie Villigran, Davanee McKelvy, Easton Printy-Smith and family, Tyler Printy-Smith and Amelia-Hartwell along with numerous nieces and nephews.
