Nancy Lee (Olsen) Markuson, age 66, was born November 4, 1958, in Butte, Montana to Robert and Elizabeth Olsen. She passed January 26, 2025, at home in Lyn’s arms. She had 7 sisters and 4 brothers. She was fifth in line.
Nancy married Lyn on May 19, 2000. They were married in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, with friends and family attending and then went to Sandpoint for the Car Show and Dance for their honeymoon. They attended this event for 20 years until Nancy couldn’t attend due to health reasons. Nancy had a kidney transplant in 1990, and her sister Barb was the donor. In 2012, Nancy had a brain tumor. In 2014 she had to have another kidney transplant, her sister Jeanne gave her this one. In 2015 Nancy got the shingles and suffered for 10 years with complications from them. She never complained about her health, she just said; “That’s what it is, gotta deal with it.”
In 2014 Lyn bought Nancy a pontoon boat and for 10 years it was Nancy’s favorite past-time. She loved camping at the river and the lake. Water, sun, and friends. Her dog Sky never went without a treat.
Nancy loved music. She knew the words to every song that came on the radio. She loved Rock and Roll and Country. Ask Jodi, Cindy, Marie and Kim, she was the Queen of music trivia. Her favorite bands were Journey, Lover Boy, Billy Idol, Boston, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Beatles, and a thousand others.
She is survived by her husband Lyn; step-sons Brent (Tamara), and Ryan Markuson; step-daughter Renee Markuson; grandchildren Zoe, Rylee, and Reece; her siblings, Cathy (Dave), Linda (Andy), Barb, Bob (Lois), Steve (Shari), Dave (Juanita), Chris, Patty, Niki (Myles); brother-in-law Jeff Taylor; sister-in-law Julie Olsen; brother-in-law Gene Markuson (Carol); and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her infant daughter Sarah Kelleher, her parents, mother-in-law Barbara Markuson, brother Jerry Olsen, brother-in-law Mike La Sorte, and her sister Jeanne Taylor.
