Nicolas Jordan Barnes

March 10, 1992 — July 21, 2013

Nicolas (nick) Jordan Barnes, 21, passed away July 21, 2013 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on July 17, 2013.

Nick was born on March 10, 1992 in Florence Oregon. Nick spent the first 5 years of his life living on the Oregon coast, where his love of the outdoors began, before moving to Washington state with his family.

For the next 14 years Nick spent his days in school, playing outside with his siblings and playing sports. Nick played baseball in middle school and went on to play football for the Blaine Borderites. Nicks great love was wrestling; he made many lifelong friends from both his school and rival schools. He wrestled 4 years as a varsity wrestler and earned the nickname "5 lb orange" from showing up to weigh-ins 5 lbs heavy only to exclaim to everyone "I only ate one orange!!"  Nick graduated from Blaine high school in 2011.

At the age of 19 Nick moved with his family to Sunburst,  Mt and quickly got a job at Somont oil. Nick was proud of his job and loved the feeling of accomplishment from putting in a hard days work. He stayed with Somont for about a year before deciding he missed friends and family back home in Washington. He moved back to Washington for a short time before moving back to Sunburst to be near his family. He was in the process of looking for employment and was making lots of new friends at the time of his accident.

Nick had a strong love for family, hard work, America and her armed forces, friends, animals, hunting, snowboarding , and the beach.

Nick is survived by his mother Dawn (Kurt) bush, his father Brad (Dianne) Barnes, his sisters Danielle and Kaitlin, his brothers Dustin, Jonathan and Austin, numerous grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, friends and 4 strangers whose lives were saved because Nick was an organ donor. Nick was very loved, he was an amazing child and becoming an even more amazing man.

Nick was a registered organ donor. His loving spirit made that choice when he was 16. He wanted to know that if something ever happened to him that he could save someone else's life. He was a hero.
