Noel H. K. Halvorson, 74, died August 20, 2012, at her home in Wasilla, Alaska. A memorial service will be held at 1 pm, Tuesday, September 4 at the Whitted Funeral Chapel in Cut Bank with burial of ashes to follow in the Crown Hill Cemetery. Noel was born in Texas on Christmas Day 1937. She was proud to be christened ‘Noel’ by parents Wm. Homer and Ruby Knight. She graduated from San Jacinta High School in 1955, and continued her education with a nursing degree, later working in housing management.
Noel resided in Cut Bank from 1970 to 1973. Then, relocating to Alaska in later years to be closer to family, she was quick to make and secure solid friendships with all at the Wasilla Senior Campus and Alderview House where she was an active and vocal advocate for the needs, wants and rights of her fellow senior peers. She was quick and adept in taking an involved interest in her many friends along with a multitude of acquaintances.
Holidays, especially Christmas, special events and myriad social events and gatherings, were important to her and the many people and friends who worked with/alongside her in these many different events and special days.
Surviving Noel are a brother and sister; four children; 11 grandchildren; and many friends.
Preceding her in death was her first husband and firstborn daughter.
“Goodbye Noel as you go into God’s unconditional love,” the family wrote.
