Norma Jean Copenhaver, age 70, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family on February 23, 2023 in Conrad, MT.
She was born November 6, 1952 to the late Wayne and Joyce Copenhaver, and was raised on the family farm East of Brady, MT with her three siblings, and cousins close by. She was raised in the Lutheran Church and was active in the Farmer’s Union. After completing high school, she graduated from Dahl’s College of Beauty, and raised two daughters, and helped raise one step daughter that she loved as her own.
She had a passion for baseball, playing first base position, and enjoyed watching or attending baseball games as often as she could. She had a green-thumb and had a large garden wherever she lived. She also took several yearly trips to the Cabin in the mountains which was one of her favorite places to be. You could often find her reading a book, and she would complete several novels in any given week. She was a wonderful seamstress and loved to sing along to Patsy Cline. She was intelligent, and taught Adult GED classes, especially gifted in the English Language Arts. By far, her favorite activity was spending time with her grandchildren, attending dance recitals, sporting events, school programs, birthdays and holidays, Easter being her favorite.
She is preceded in death by her parents as mentioned above and sister, Linda (late Terry) Wolferman. She is survived by sister, Betty (late Bill) Dagel; brother, Malvin (Marilyn) Copenhaver; daughters, Myndi (Troy) Anderson, Ariel (Jake) McMunn, and Deedra (William) Darby; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and close friend, Connie (Scott) Hanson.
