      Norman E. Stordahl,  90, of Conrad, passed away after a brief stay at the Logan Health Extended Care in Conrad on September 6, 2023.  Norman was born November 22, 1932 in Conrad, Montana, to Albert and Mabel Jacobson Stordahl.  He was raised on the family farm east of Conrad.  He had siblings, Ernest, Eunice, Lowell, and Ralph.  Norman went to the Farris country school and then graduated from Conrad High School in 1951.  He was drafted into the Army in November of 1952.  After training and radio school, Norman was sent to White Sands Proving Grounds in New Mexico.  Norman was released from active-duty November 1954.  

  On March 9, 1955 Norman Stordahl married Martha Wolstad at Valier, Montana. Over the years they adopted three children: Lillie of Anchorage AK, Jodie of Missoula, and Curtis of Conrad.  

  Norman started working for Pondera County while living in Conrad.  In 1960 they moved to a small farm northeast of Conrad.  Norman worked for the Pondera County Road Department for 39 years (1955-1994) as the Shop, Bridge, and Oil Forman.  

  Martha Stordahl passed away in 2003.  Norman married Shirley Snortland Bergstrom in 2004.  He sold the farm, and they spent their retirement in Conrad.  Norman was very talented at woodworking and an avid reader.  He enjoyed keeping in contact with his many cousins near and far.  

  Norman Stordahl was a member of the Golden West Lutheran Church and later a member of the Pondera Valley Lutheran Church. Along with his wife Shirley, he was also active in the Brady Methodist Church.  

  Norman E. Stordahl was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Mabel Jacobson Stordahl, brother Lowell Stordahl, wife Martha Wolstad Stordahl, and sister-in-law Loretta Stordahl.  

  He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Shirley Bergstrom Stordahl; brothers Ernest (Jeanne) Stordahl, Ralph (Helen) Stordahl; sister Eunice (Darrell) Clark; son Curtis A. Stordahl; daughters Lillie (Chas) Chambers, and Jodie Palmer; stepchildren Janice (Jeff) Farkell, Howard (Julie) Bergstrom, Carolyn (Dave) Bakker, and John Bergstrom; grandchildren CJ (Amanda) Stordahl  Riley Stordahl, Tashia Stordahl,  David (Kendra) Armstrong, Jessica Bergstrom, Joel (Kody) Farkell, Mark (Rachelle) Bergstrom, Anna (Travis) Walter, Kelli (Nels) Oksendahl; great grandchildren; Kenny and Simonne Armstrong, Hudson Stordahl, Audriana Stordahl, Aleksandra Harris, Ana Marie Harris, Jordan and Jhace Curran, Anthony and Hannah Curran, Jazmyne and Devyn Curran, Michael and Cierra Curran, Evan, Noah, and Caleb Walter, Jaidyn and Kendra Farkell, Isaiah, Aliya, and Sophia Bergstrom, Carter and Genevieve Oksendahl,  

  A funeral service will be held in Conrad at the Pondera Valley Lutheran Church at 10:00 AM, Monday, September 11, with a reception to follow at the church fellowship hall.  Interment will be at the Golden West Lutheran Church Cemetery east of Conrad at 2:00PM on Monday, Sept 11.  

  Memorials may be made to the Pondera Valley Lutheran Church, Flathead Lutheran Bible Camp, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
