Oscar William Diedrich, 88, passed away on November 10, 2021 due to complications with heart failure.
Oscar was born in Leaf Valley, Minnesota to Herbert and Violet Diedrich. He was the second of 16 brothers and sisters. He served in the Army from 1953-1955 in the Artillery Center at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Oscar received the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He helped run the family farm until moving to Montana, where he worked many years in the grain business until retiring.
Oscar had one biological daughter, Karen Diedrich and helped in the raising of five other children. He enjoyed shooting pool with Karen and all his teammates over the years. Oscar also loved bowling and playing cards with his grandkids and great grandkids.
He survived by his daughter, Karen; four brothers, Daniel, Donald, Dale and Bert; four sisters, Jane, Lorraine, Delphine and Carol; three grandchildren, Naomi, Kyle, and Kirsten; three great grandchildren, Serenity, Chloe and Destiny; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
The burial will be held on November 22, 2021 at Hillside Cemetery in Conrad. A celebration of his life will be held at the Conrad Moose Lodge.
