Pat L. Myers

July 10, 1952 — May 9, 2017

Patrick Leonard Myers, 64, passed away Tuesday, May 9, in Conrad.

A time of remembrance will be Saturday, May 13, at 11:00 AM at the Conrad Moose Lodge.

Pat was born July 10, 1952 to Fred and Peggy Myers in Whitefish.  He was the fourth of five children. He began his wandering lust while a young child.  He and his family moved 12 times before they settled in Conrad during his freshman year of high school.  He graduated from Conrad High School in 1971.  He quit his job at the local Standau Station.  He worked his way down to his sister, Lorna’s, in Texas by hitch hiking from one job to another.  Then hitch hiked back to Montana covering most of the Western states.  He landed in Helena for 5 years where he met his wife, Jo Wells.  They later divorced.  Out of this union was born his only child, Mike Wayne Myers.  They left Helena in 1950 and moved to the Woodburn area in Oregon.  Pat worked for Mr. P’s Auto until he retired due to health issues.

During his life, he battled severe arthritis and heart problems.  But his lived his life to the fullest riding his motorcycle down the coast to the Bahas and back.  He took many motorcycle trips to Glacier Park and to Conrad.  Pat loved to hunt and fish.  Salmon fishing and gopher hunting were his main passions.  He was a big Nascar fan.

Pat’s fortitude drove us all.  He was told at age 25 he would be in a wheelchair by age 40 and he defied them all by proving them wrong.  He never needed that wheelchair.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick and Margaret Myers; sister, Lorna Swan; brothers, Benjamin and Charles Myers.

Survivors include son, Michael (Wilma); sister, Peggy (Randy) Young; numerous nieces and nephews.
