On June 1, 2019 Ralph John Lindberg, “Flying Eagle”, with his loving wife of 48 years and children present, peacefully went to be with the Lord. Ralph was born on March 3, 1947 in Billings. His parents were Arnold and Marie Lindberg of Conrad; brothers, Paul Lindberg of Conrad and Hawk Lindberg of Great Falls. Ralph graduated from Conrad High School in 1967 and attended Northern Montana College. Ralph was a U.S. Army Veteran serving two tours of duty in Vietnam from June 1967 to January 1970.
On December 5, 1970 Ralph married the love of his life, Anna Marie Williamson, and moved back to the Lindberg farm in Ledger, where they farmed until April 1972. In 1972 Ralph and Anna purchased their own family farm and ranch west of Conrad and started their family. Ralph and Anna had 4 children; Teri (Chancy) Kittson, Jeanne (Doug) Arrow Top, Beau (Brenda) Lindberg and Jordan Cole (Ashana) Lindberg. Ralph had 8 grand-children and 6 great-grandchildren.
The Lindberg Farm operation provided the learning grounds where Ralph taught his children the importance of hard work and being independent. When it came time for the kids to begin rodeoing, Ralph always made sure they had the best horses to ride. Ralph supported his children telling them that they could do anything, and he was proud of them.
In Ralph’s later years he enjoyed watching westerns, traveling and meeting people. Ralph loved rodeos, most of all team roping which offered one of the great highlights of his life; team roping with his sons, Beau and Jordan . The highlight of Ralph’s roping career was qualifying for the Senior Pro Rodeo Finals in Reno, Nevada. He always reminded his family to have faith in God, fully supporting them in all their endeavors. Ralph loved the company of his children and grandchildren, they fulfilled his life. Ralph had the ability to visit with perfect strangers and had a smile that could brighten the room. One thing is for certain, our lives are all brighter because of Ralph.
Ralph is preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Marie Lindberg; brother, Hawk Lindberg; and a nephew, Shanlon Lindberg.
