Ray Nicklaus
October 18, 1931 — November 26, 2017
Raymond “Ray” “Gramps” Nicklaus, 86, rode off into the sunset on his favorite horse on November 26, 2017 surrounded by his family.
Ray was born in Elgin, ND on October 18, 1931. Ray was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He cherished his family dearly. Ray served his country proudly in the Korean War.
On August 25, 1954 Ray married Janette Karlin. Together they had six children, Don (Cathy) Nicklaus, Joan (Robin) McElrath, Betty (Donny) Whilhelm, Cheryl (Carl) Nicklaus, Karen (Leonard) Wilkey, and Randy Nicklaus. As a result Ray had many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
Ray worked at the Columbia Falls Aluminum Plant for 32 years. Ray and Janette resided in the Flathead Valley until 2003, when they moved to Valier.
Ray is survived by his sisters, Irene Eggers, Deloris (Leo) Schnider, Arleen Arnth, and Violet (Neil) Monson.
He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and three sisters.
Ray has been cremated and services will be at a later date.
