Raymond Martindale Firman Jr., passed away at Marias Care Center on May 27, 2014 due to his ongoing battle with cancer.
Ray was the first born son of Raymond Martindale Firman Sr. and Bessie M. Docherty Firman in Trenton, New Jersey on December 11 th , 1940.
Raymond grew up just outside of Great Falls. He also attended school in Great Falls. He married Marian Collins. They had 2 children, Laura and Allen, out of that union. They later divorced. He then married Judy Swick. Out of that union, they also had 2 children, Stephanie and Brandon. Later, they divorced as well.
Ray moved to Alaska in 1985. In 2000, he married Brenda and adopted her youngest daughter, Suhanna. They too divorced in October 2013.
Wherever he went, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, ice fishing as well as singing karaoke and playing live poker games. He had the gift of gab and could talk to anyone anywhere. He also liked to hang out with his brothers and family at family gatherings.
The oilfield was his job for many years. He did many different things within the oilfield in Montana, Kansas and Alaska until his retirement in 2000.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents (Great Falls), his brother Paul Firman (Great Falls), and his son Brandon J. Firman (Cut Bank). He is survived by daughter Laura (Hugh) Herget of Coutts, Alberta; daughter Stephanie (Mike) Moran of Cut Bank; daughter Suhanna of Winlock, Washington; son Allen Firman of Portland, Oregon; brother Michael (Edith) of Billings, Montana; brother Dale (Stacey) of Belgrade, Montana; brother Pat (Kathy) of Great Falls, Montana; and David (Renee) of Augusta, Montana; 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews along with the many, many friends he had made throughout his life.
A celebration of life will be held July 12 th at 2:00 pm at Giant Springs State Park in Great Falls, MT. All friends and family are invited. Please join us!
