Richard Wesley Walter was born on February 16, 1942 to John James Walter and Alice Mary (Seewald) Walter in Browning. He passed away on October 2, 2016.
Richard was raised in Browning, Kevin, and Squaw Flat. He graduated from Browning High School in 1960 on what he called the “the five-year plan”. After graduating he worked on numerous area ranches.
Later on he worked for the John Deere Company in Conrad. Richard later moved to Shelby where he was a police officer, parts man, and worked at Marias Packing Plant. In Browning he was employed by Red Rock Construction building power lines and eventually worked for Glacier Electric where he retired after over twenty –eight years as a lineman.
Richard always liked to joke and tease everyone. He loved his family dearly, especially his loving wife of 49 years, Karleen.
Survivors include his wife, Karleen; daughter, Kori Walter; son, Keenan Walter; brothers, Roger (Lucy) Walter, Harvey (Stella) Walter; sisters, Dolores (Walter) Salois and Lila (Boyd) Evans; grandchildren, Brett Hodson, Alyssa Hodson, Wynter Van Buren, Tracer Walter, Regan Walter; and one great grandson, Kolter Hodson Loring.
He is preceded in death by parents, John and Alice Walter; brothers, Clifford and James Walter; and grandparents, Aaron and Minnie Walter & Chris and Anna Seewald.
A wake will start Thursday, October 6, at Glacier Home Center in Browning. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 7, at 11:00 PM at Browning Methodist Church.
