Bob grew up and graduated from Anaconda. His love of mechanics and tinkering on hot rods led him to the Northern Montana College where he studied automotive mechanics and design. While attending school he met and later married the love of his life Karen Kay (Wilson) Marchion.
Starting in Anaconda driving a gravel truck, they soon moved to Bremerton Washington, so he could take a job with Boeing. After a couple of years Bob and his new family moved to Cut Bank Montana, where Bob worked for the Union Oil Co. until finding his mechanics calling with the Montana Power Company with whom he worked for, for the next thirty years.
Dad was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors. Many camp trips by tent in the 1953 Willy Wagon, day trips to the Sweet Grass Hills, or long slow walks through the neighborhood. He was an active member of everything and anything his children were involved in. A dedicated member of the Moose Lodge and of the Lutheran Church. After retirement Bob enjoyed visiting his neighbors, walking his dogs, and enjoying time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He looked forward to his weekly coffee and bible study time with the guys. There never seemed to be a subject he wouldn’t discuss nor a person whom he wouldn’t discuss it with. An avid collector of the odd and interesting, a history buff, and first-rate storyteller. First to laugh at or tell a joke, offer help, and give advice. A loving father, devoted husband, grandfather and great grandfather.
Survivors include his children Rob (Dawn) of Havre, MT, Randy (Tanya) of Baker, MT, Butch of Cut Bank, MT and Penny (Dayne) Peterson of Cut Bank, MT along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife Karen, parents Harold and Gladyce, brothers Theodore, Russell, and Laurence, nephew Jeffrey, and great grandsons Weston and Jaxxson.
