Robert Eugene Thompson

Robert Eugene Thompson passed away peacefully at Marias Care Center on December 25, 2015.

A memorial service will 11:00 am on Saturday, March 5, at Whitted Funeral Chapel in Shelby.

Robert was born in Whiteriver, South Dakota on April 14, 1931 to Eugene and Agnes Thompson. For Robert being a cowboy was his first love. Even at a young age Robert was most at home in the country preferably on a horse. In 1962 he met the love of his life Catharina Praag. They were married on February 23, 1963 and shared fifty happy years together.

In 1964 Robert and Catharina move to Whitlash, Montana where they raised their four children. They moved to Shelby in 1999 to enjoy their retirement. Robert enjoyed working in his garden, maintaining his yard, and spending time with his grandkids.

Robert is survived by his children Ramona Thompson, Glenn (Renee) Thompson, Miriam Williams, Christina (Bruce) Thornton; his grandchildren Shelby Williams, Aaron Williams, Dakota Thompson, Rayenn Thompson, Paul Miller, Robert Thornton, Connor Thornton. He was preceded in death by his father Eugene Thompson and his wife Catharina Thompson.

Though the pain of his loss is greatly felt we all take comfort that he is with our Mom once again.
