On Thursday, November 24th, 2022, Roberta Sellner, passed away peacefully at home. Roberta was born on February 22, 1941 in Bemidji, Minnesota to Theodore and Dorothy (Adams) Preston. She met the love of her life, Gordon Sellner, at a truck stop where she was cooking. She would joke that he dripped water on her burgers from showering in a room above the kitchen, and that’s how they met. They became good friends and were married on November 27, 1966. They moved to Montana where they purchased property in the Swan Valley in 1970. There they raised their four daughters and built a home.
Roberta loved her family and was a dedicated mother and wife. She was a hard worker- loved to build things, garden, and hunt. She taught her daughters the skills she’d learned over the years, whether it was how to bake bread, preserve food, build a bookcase or how to laugh through a tough day. Her sense of humor and willingness to be goofy will be missed. She had a strong faith in the Lord which carried her through to the end of her life and left that legacy for her family and friends to remember and lean on.
Roberta is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Teddy, Henry, Danny; and sister, Hannah. She is survived by her husband, Gordon Sellner; her sister, Naomi Hunt; her daughters, Pamela Yates, Vick Kultgen, Valerie Sellner, Angela Williams; her 11 grandchildren; and her 13 great-grandchildren.
The family appreciates all the love and support extended to Roberta over the last few years from her friends and church family in Bigfork.
