Rodney Gene Miller, 55, formerly of Shelby, died May 17 at his home in Kalispell. He was born in Shelby on May 11, 1957 to Leonard Alton Miller and Myrtle (Lunda) Miller and was raised and educated in Toole County, Montana.
Rodney had worked in the restaurant and food service business most of his life and had most recently resided in the Flathead Valley for the past 6 years. During his lifetime, Rodney had no children of his own but was instrumental as an “adoptive parent”, helping with the raising of friends’ children.
He enjoyed cooking, camping, crafts, spending time in the Montana great outdoors, and watching his nephews ride motocross. Always willing to lend a helping hand, he will be missed by friends and family.
Preceding him in death are his father and brothers Larry and Mike; and one of his “adoptive children” Richard Burns.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Myrtle and LeRoy Meyer of Sunburst; his brothers, Alton (Judy) Miller of Shelby; Harvey (Nan) Miller of Wall, SD; Sid Miller of Newark, CA; Ken Miller of Great Falls; his sister, Shirley Miller (Mike Hofer) of Sweet Grass; a sister in law, Susie Miller of Texas; special friends Virginia Burns and Brenda Burns of Shelby; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be announced later this week. Online condolences may be made at www.whittedfuneralchapel.com
