Ronald Joe McRae, 62, an auto mechanic from Cut Bank, passed away September 28, 2011 at the home of his sister after a six month battle with cancer. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 4, at the Crown Hill Cemetery with a reception to follow at the Cut Bank Community Bible Church. Survivors include his three siblings, Richard (Linda) McRae of Corona, CA, Jean (Jarden) Gilbert of Cut Bank, and Robert (Jean) McRae of Cut Bank; nephews, David Gilbert, Mark (Nancy) Gilbert, Robert P McRae, Clifford McRae, and Jeff McRae; niece, Joanne Gilbert; grand-nephew, Nick Gilbert; grand-nieces, Courtney Gilbert and Jennifer Wenzl; great-grand-nieces, Abby, Haley, and Izzy. Ronald was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ed and Irene Roscoe; parents, Bill and Edna McRae; nephews, Dean Gilbert and Ed Gilbert; and niece, Stella McRae.
Ronald was born and raised in Cut Bank, graduating from Cut Bank High School in 1967. In 1970, he graduated from Northern Montana College in Havre with a degree in automotive mechanics. He had been employed at Bell Motor Company for 30 years.
Ronald loved animals and had many pets. He also loved to work on old cars. Ronald never married – he chose to care for his mother until her death.
