Ruth (Kilian) Hartsell
June 21, 1921 — November 17, 2014
Ruth M. Hartsell, 93, went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 17 th , 2014.
She was born in Valier, MT to Karl and Helen (Hovdebo) Kilian on June 21 st , 1921.
She is survived by daughter Linda (Glen) Fischer of Rothbury, MI; granddaughters Kara (Matt) Hubbard of Bozeman, MT. Kristen ( Scott) Arnold of Red Lodge, MT ; four great granddaughters Alexis and Grace Hubbard and Brynley and Ryley Arnold. She is also survived by a cousin Mable Slezak of Cut Bank, MT.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents Karl and Helen Kilian; her daughter Helen Jorgenson and son-in-law David Jorgenson.
She graduated from Valier High School and Kinman Business College in Spokane WA. Ruth was an active member of the Valier Lutheran Church. She served on the church council as Trustee and Deacon, was Directress of the Altar Guild and taught Sunday school and confirmation classes. She was Past Secretary of Queen Rebecca Lodge # 31 and Past Noble Grand of Valier Rebecca Lodge #104. Ruth retired from the Valier Bank of Montana after 30 years as cashier.
There will be a viewing for friends at the Whitted Funeral Chapel in Shelby on Saturday, November 22 from 3 to 5 p.m. She will be interred at Valier Cemetery.
A memorial service will be held at the Valier Lutheran Church at a later date
