Sandra ‘Sandy’ L. Hagen, 67, of Tiffin, Ohio passed away Sunday afternoon, May 22, 2011 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio.
A gathering of family & friends will be Wednesday, July 13th from 6:00 until 7:00 pm at the Whitted Funeral Chapel. A celebration of life will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, July 14th at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church with inurnment to follow in the Valley View Cemetery.
On January 25, 1944 in Davenport, Iowa, she was born to Ralph Burke and Eunice (Burke) Rogers. She married Dennis E. Hagen on January 14, 1961.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years Dennis Hagen of Tiffin; a son, Scott (Sally) Hagen of St. Louis, Missouri and a daughter Karri Hagen-Meachan of Tiffin; mother, Eunice Burke Rogers of Shelby; three grandchildren, Dana and Patrick Hagen and Devin Meachan; sisters, Cheryl Whiting (Val) of Kearns, Utah and Susan Smith (Jim) of Shelby. Also surviving Sandra are stepsisters, Janice Rogers Peltier, Jayne Rogers Land and Julie Rogers Winter, and stepbrother, Bill Rogers. She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Burke and a sister, Cathy Habets.
Sandy was of Lutheran faith, serving on various committees and as a Sunday school teacher at many Lutheran churches in California, Texas, Montana and Washington before moving to Tiffin 5 years ago. Sandy was active on social networks, staying connected with her friends and family throughout the country and loved to fish; always catching the first, biggest and most fish. She also enjoyed sewing, crafts, reading, cooking, and entertaining. The most important part of Sandy’s life was being a mother, wife and grandmother. She was always there for her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
