Scott Thomas Murray, a beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away on October 28, 2021 at the age of 62 years old.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, November 4, 2021, at 3pm at the Canvas Church in Cut Bank. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to make donations to any organization of your choice.
Scott was born in Lewistown August 18, 1959. He was the youngest of 7 children of Joe and Betty Murray. He started school in Danvers and graduated from Denton High School in 1979. Wrestling was his sport of choice, though he did play football occasionally. After graduation he went to Dawson Community College to pursue his career in Law Enforcement. He enjoyed learning all he could learn to help in his field of law enforcement and passing his knowledge down to others. He took an interest in the K-9 unit and he had two police K-9s, Hogan and Gundo. He also attended the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA. After 27 years in law enforcement, he decided it was time to pursue other interests and became the Safety Specialist for CHS.
In December 1983 he married the love of his life, his soul mate, Pamela Newman. They were best friends, partners, and teammates and did as much as possible together. His motto was, “At least we are together.” Scott and Pam raised their 3 children, Josh, Travis & Sarah, in Cut Bank. He loved spending time with his family going hunting, camping and exploring. His grandchildren were the best part of his day and they loved hearing Papa’s Donald Duck voice and silly songs. His favorite hobbies included gardening and keeping his yard pristine as well as traveling and riding his Harley.
With Scott there were no gray areas. It was black or white, right or wrong, fair to everyone. Scott had a strong “rough around the edges” personality, but once you got to know him, he was a big teddy bear that had compassion for everyone.
Scott is survived by his wife, Pamela; son, Joshua and his son, Andrew; son, Travis (Robin) and their son, Beau; daughter, Sarah (Tanner) Fuson and their son, Ryan; sisters, Patricia Dockery “Doc” and Judy Miller; brother-in-law, Mark (Debbie) Newman; In-laws, Jim and Barbara Newman; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Betty Murray; siblings, Joey, Bettie, Mike and Tim; and very recently his uncle, Ted Murray.
